MEDINA COUNTY
In Medina County, a 2010 Safe Communities grantee, seat belt use decreased from 85% during the baseline to 79% during June 2010 and to 73% during September 2010. This decline put Medina County significantly below the usage rate target of 85%. Survey protocol variation (i.e., number of observation sites and vehicles) is probably responsible for the results and should be examined, revised, and standardized.
